2013 July Meeting

July 11, 2013 Meeting

2013 July Meeting President Larry Berg called the meeting to order at 7:11 p.m.

Larry started the meeting with a plug for the barbeque calendar rally. He's already received several pictures, but all are encouraged to send pictures of their Triumphs at barbeque restaurants for consideration in next year's calendar.

Membership Chair Joe DeMuth reported nothing new. Steady is good.

Newsletter Chair Orrin McGill thanked everyone for all the submissions entered for the July newsletter. He pointed out that he almost had too much content, which is a good thing.

Event coordinators Terry Mackey and Dick Leighninger had a host of notes on upcoming events.
  • The Mudhens baseball event is coming up on July 21.
  • The Mystery Tour has been moved to July 23 (yep, it's a Tuesday). It starts at 6 p.m. at the corner of Highway 7 and County Road 41 near Excelsior.
  • The Fall Color Tour is scheduled for Oct. 12. Someone is needed to organize. If you're interested, contact Terry and Dick.
  • Dick's aviation group is organizing a bus trip to Oshkosh, Wis. for the air show. The deadline to enter is very quick - July 15.
  • A drive-in movie night will be held on July 26 at Vali Hi.
  • The next day is the Winery tour on July 27 at the Woodland Hill Winery. Anyone interested in caravanning out can meet at the northeast corner of the Ridgedale Mall parking lot at 11 a.m..

2013 July Meeting Tech session coordinator Pat Holt reported that we had a great session at Carole Isakson's house last weekend. He mentioned that nothing is currently planned for August, so anyone wanting some work done can certainly request it.

Regarding Intermarque, there are lots of upcoming events to which everyone is invited.

Lots of people drove their little Triumphs to tonight's meeting, including a 1974 silver TR6 that's for sale. A previous owner had apparently spent some $30,000 on a full restoration. The car's now for sale for $5,700.

Finally, those in attendance reported that last Sunday's Intermarqe picnic was a great success. Sue Ethier brought roast beef for everyone and we had a good turnout of about 35 people.

Larry adjourned the meeting at 7:47 p.m.
