August 8, 2013 Meeting MinutesPresident Larry Berg called the meeting to order at 7:14 p.m.
We welcomed a couple of new members today:
Membership Chair Joe DeMuth couldn't make it to today's meeting but told Larry that numbers remain steady.
Nancy Gelhar reported that we now have 100 "likes" on our MN Triumphs Facebook page. The 100th person is Pam McGill (Orrin's wife).
Tech session coordinator Pat Holt reminded the group that there is a session on carburetors coming up on Aug. 17 at Larry Berg's house. No tech sessions are scheduled for September but anyone interested in hosting a session should contact Pat.
Pat also spoke of a couple of InterMarque events, including the Waumandee Hillclimb on Sept. 20-22 (if you're going, you may want to get your hotel reservation in soon). A couple of car shows are also planned for the next few weeks in Hudson and Golden Valley.
VTR liaison Larry Sanderson pointed out that one of the great benefits of being a VTR member is that you have access to other Triumph experts when traveling. A couple of our members have helped traveling Triumph owners as they pass through the area, and others will offer the same assistance whenever you're traveling.
Event coordinators Terry Mackey and Dick Leighninger thanked those who have been hosting recent events. They also announced that they would have some small prize to the person who attended the most MN Triumphs events.
Coming up on Sept. 7 is the Hangar Dance. That's the same day as the Wheels & Wings show in Osceola, Wis. Then, on Sept. 14, there's the Summer Picnic at Phil and Sue Ethier's house. Doug Burch will be organizing this year's Fall Color Tour.
Larry Berg reminded everyone to submit their pictures of themselves with their cars at barbecue restaurants for the 2014 calendar.
Larry adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m.
